I believe every relationship should be able to withstand any circumstances thrown at them, no matter what the situation might be. I also believe that in order for a relationship to be considered a functioning relationship, every couple should go through a few tests before being considered untouchable or whatever the perfect couples are called these days. I believe that being in a long distance relationship for a good amount of time in your courtship should be a part of that test. This is one of the strongest bridges a couple can cross. If a couple can withstand this difficult time then sue me if I believe that they can withstand anything.
Relationships are difficult on their own, now imagine adding something like long distance into the equation. Can you say almost impossible? I can, “ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.” If your feelings do not change or even if it increases after being farther apart, then I can assure you, your love can withstand a good amount of circumstances. So bring on the cheating….Okay maybe not the cheating. Speaking of cheating, when there isn’t any type of physical contact or that touch of warmth from your partner and you still refrain from cheating, then I say more power to you, you better marry that man before I do!
Long distant relationships tests so many sections under one huge category. Trust becomes a bigger part of your relationship, if it isn’t already. Instead of going straight to his house after he hangs out with the boys so that you can make sure he goes home alone, you just might have to take his word for it. Second, communication is one of the biggest factors in keeping your relationship alive. During your long distance relationship, anything can be misunderstood and left undone. All it takes is one of you not picking up on the first phone call, Skype calls, Facetime calls, even BBM messages says R yet no reply, etc. And just like that another relationship bites the dust all because of a silly little misunderstanding that could have been avoided by talking. He could have dosed off and forgot to reply to your BBM message, or I don’t know, maybe he’s busy doing something else other than cheating. Third, Patience. This is dedicated to my men, take a deep breathe and relax, that folks needs no explanation. So when faced with this test, as long as you remember it is only temporary, you and your beau should have no problem passing this test of time.
